"When is Aunt Dorothy coming over?" When we were kids we couldn't wait for Aunt Dorothy to come over, and then as soon as she would get there we would say, "Hey Aunt Dorothy, when are you going home?" Which she would get a kick out of. She loved to laugh and play games and hang with the family because she was so much a part of our family. We all loved her and will miss her forever.

My Aunt Dorothy taught me many things, usually while playing 500 Rummy. She was my soulmate and first real confidante. When she came to our house for vacation one summer, I asked her why she wasn't wearing her watch. She said, "I never wear my watch while I'm on vacation. I don't want to have to think about time while relaxing." This was wonderful advice which I have followed to this day. Each time I put my watch aside for a break from work or a vacation I would think of her. I will miss her political opinions, insights into faith and, most of all her sense of humor. I get the baseball Maureen.

Many years ago I told aunt Dorothy that she reminded me of a tugboat. Have you ever seen how these tiny tugboats push around the huge vessels trying to get into port? These little boats have a big job and leave a very big wake. Yup, that is aunt Dorothy. She might not have been a large woman but she could make herself HEARD, and she always left a large wake. She will be missed so very much. rose flynn
