Obituary of Arthur J. Criscione

CRISCIONE, Sr., Arthur J. On Thursday, April 9, 2020, Arthur J. Criscione, Sr., beloved father and grandfather, passed away at the age of 96. Arthur was born on February 5, 1924, in North Bergen, NJ, to Carmelo and Mary (née Costello) Criscione. He was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Concetta (née Scutellaro), his brother Emmanuel, his sister Virginia Blundo and his parents. He is survived by his three children, Arthur Jr. (Eileen), Cynthia Story (Stan), and Christopher, as well as four grandchildren, Julia, Paul, Brendan and Daniel Criscione, and his sister Marie Salerno. Arthur served in the U.S. Navy during World War II in the Pacific theater. He was involved in the Battles of Okinawa and the Philippines. After the war, he and Concetta married and raised their three children in Floral Park, New York. He worked as a linotype operator at the Long Island Press. Memorial services will be held at Higgins Home for Funerals in Watchung, NJ, and interment will take place at Brigadier General William C. Doyle Memorial Cemetery. Arthur was a loving, gentle man who will be missed by all who knew him.
