Obituary of Glenward Crawley
Glenward Marcellus Crawley was born April 27, 1973 in Glen Ridge, New Jersey to the late Glenward Earl
Crawley who preceded him in death in 1993 and Vallarie Crawley. Glen entered into eternal rest in
Summit, New Jersey on April 15, 2020.
Glen was raised in East Orange, New Jersey and later moved to Bloomfield, New Jersey. He graduated
from Clifford J Scott High School in East Orange, New Jersey. Although Glen worked many jobs
throughout his life, his career was at FedEx Ground where he worked diligently for 19 years. Throughout
his entire working career, he rarely missed a day of work until his untimely demise.
In 2006, he met the love of his life, Yvonne. Glen and I dated for a short time and we married soon in
2007. Glen enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and just know he always had something to
joke about. Glen had a kind heart and was always willing to lend a helping hand. He also loved his
football. We would host a Super Bowl party every year because he wouldn’t have it any other way.
Glen enjoyed taking the kids to the movies, amusement parks, playing video games with them and
short-day trips to get out and enjoy his family. Baking and cooking were his guilty pleasures. Glen was
the Grill Master and could fry a mean turkey too!
He was a great dad, always supporting the kids in school events, football, and basketball games.
Teaching them to drive and putting three of the kids through college. I could go on and on with how
great he was, but for those who knew him, you knew he worked hard to give his family a good life. He
far exceeded that aspiration. He was so proud of his family. There was nothing he wouldn’t do for us and
we loved him for everything he was to us! He was a great role model with a strong work ethic to be left
behind as his legacy.
In departing this life, Glen leaves to cherish his loving memories, his wife Yvonne affectionately known
as his “P”, his sons Jawhari and Justin, his daughters Ahmani, Shania, Ronnique and Mia; His mother
Vallarie Crawley, he was her only child and she loved her some “Pookie” as she called him. Two
brothers, Kyle Crawley and Gerrell Crawley, his sister Casi Miller, his Uncle Glen Swiney who helped to
raise him after his father passed away, Aunt Jill Swiney, Aunt Alma Williams, Aunt Shirley Crawley, Uncle
Andre Crawley, and his Uncle Melvin and Aunt Angela Crawley, a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and
dear friends. I just could not leave out his two dogs Sofi and Bailey who he loved dearly. Glen was many
things to many people and we will always cherish the times and memories that we all have of him.
