To my dear cousins, Laraine and Claire,
I am so sorry for the loss of your mom. I truly feel for you since you could not be with her to hold her hand or talk with her.
I have many wonderful memories of Aunt Marie. One in particular is when we visited while on our way to a new state since dad was in the Air Force. We moved around quite a bit when I was a teenager. One visit I needed to shampoo my hair sooo very badly. Aunt Marie understood and helped me out. I was very appreciative and will never forget her kindness. When we left,
she sent us on our way with a bag full of sandwiches. They were delicious! These are the little things one never forgets!
My thoughts and prayers are with you and your families,
Love ,
Cheryl and Family

Dear Claire & Family,
So sorry to hear of your Mom's passing. She was such a warm and sweet lady and part of our Bunko ladies, I remember her so well. I remember the beautiful relationship that you and she had Claire and it reminded me so much of my relationship with my mother. That is the piece to hold onto and I know she had a beautiful relationship also with Alan and the boys. It's those memories that will hold you through this tough time. Focus on the good times you shared and that will always make you happy.
Again, I am so sorry to hear this, but know she lived a beautiful, fulfilled life filled with the love of her family and friends. We are thinking of you and love you all.

Dear Claire - and family,
What a beautiful tribute to your Mom.
Your mom will always hold a special place in our hearts with so many memories to cherish. I will recall the warm and fun interactions with my girls, i.e. picking her up to take her to Saturday evening mass- when you were out of town. I can still hear one of my daughters stating - "the only reason we got picked to bring up the gifts as a family was because we had "Mrs Cox " with us !!! Probably true! Your mom had connections!!
We the Bunco girls always enjoyed her company and knew to save room for dessert- her Angel Food Cake!!
I loved witnessing the pride and love she had for your family- Claire, Alan,David and Daniel! You all made her very happy and it was evident during her visits.
She lived a lovely full life surrounded by family and friends.
I know she is resting in peace - and has already made a heaven full of friends . Love the Nansen family

We are sorry for your loss but glad that we had the opportunity to know Marie, even if just for a small part of her life. You have so many fond memories to help you through this loss, and we know you rejoice in the knowledge that she is with her Creator and family who have gone before her.

21 years ago...whenI was first diagnosed with breast cancer at the tender age of 29... with our 17 month old baby girl to raise...still so full of fear...Marie shared with me something that I've always kept tucked away in my heart.
Of all the fond memories I have of Marie, this one is my most cherished moment with her, one she shared with me those many years ago.
Marie was hosting a family picnic in her New Jersey backyard on a beautiful mild summer afternoon. She was busy tending to everyone making sure others were being served as our hostess for the day. Somewhere in all of the hustle & bustle of burgers & cheese hot dogs grilling, macaroni salad and watermelon...I remember her wiping her hands on her cute little apron, taking a moment to take me by the hands...pulling me away from the crowd of people that seemed to faintly disappear around the two of us. We shared a moment in time that seemed to make everything just stand still as she sat me down and looked me square in the eyes and in the firmest yet gentlest way she said...
"Remember, cancer is just a word, not a sentence" and I knew EXACTLY what she intended for my heart to hear.
In the middle of complete cancer chaos her words were crystal clear. My heart heard loud and clear and embraced her pure words of wisdom for many years to come. I'm forever grateful for that defining moment in time with her. Her loving words helped frame my perspective...guiding my thoughts forward, to hold on to on those dark nights when my faith was being severely challenged by paralyzing fear.
Being able to see another woman who had walked the same path I was currently on and survived...was a bright glimmer of HOPE for me to walk in. Her words became part of the backdrop of my own healing...a "jewel" in my journey.
Love and prayers ~ for the family.
