Obituary of Joseph Friedrich

Joseph Friedrich, 88, passed away on April 16, 2020. He was born on March 29, 1932 in Romania and immigrated to the United States in 1950 and lived in Elizabeth, NJ. After honorably serving his country in the Army during the Korean War Joe relocated his family to Watchung. Joe was a carpenter and was a member of the Carpenters Union Local #715 in Elizabeth for 64 years. He was a member of the Deutscher Club in Clark, a Charter Member of the Elizabethtown Gun Club. In his later years his passion became raising and racing homing pigeons as a dedicated member of the Queen City Pigeon Club in Piscataway. Joseph is predeceased by his wife, Anna; parents, Peter and Katharina and brother, Ewald. Surviving his daughter and son-in-law, Trudi and Rusty Hayes; son and daughter-in-law, Joseph and Susan Friedrich; grandchildren, Krista Hayes de Andrade, Corey Hayes, Mary Hayes Kelly, Kaitlin Friedrich Bradley, Kelly Friedrich King and Peter Friedrich; and two great grandchildren; Jett deAndrade and Finn Bradley; sister-in-law, Barbara Friedrich; and longtime companion and friend Margareta Frank. All services are private. A private memorial will be held at a future date.
