Obituary of Carlos Arturo Garcia

Carlos Arturo García Jaque, nació (un martes) 13 de diciembre de 1949 en Bogotá Colombia. Fueron sus padres Sofía y José Gregorio García; segundo hijo de una familia de cinco. En el Colegio De Los Andes, alcanzó el bachillerato y en el Centro De Especialización Técnica E Intensiva De Comercio” obtuvo el grado de contador general en 1968. Como deportista demostró habilidades en el fútbol y jugó en el Fútbol Aficionado De Bogotá.Tuvo la oportunidad de formar parte en los mejores clubes del Fútbol Aficionado. Esto le ayudó generar ingresos para sus gastos de muchacho. En 1969 su deseo de apoyar a su familia y buscar un mejor futuro viaja a los Estados Unidos en donde obtuvo lo que deseaba. En compañía de su hermano Rafael se inició en varios negocios que le permitieron cumplir sus propósitos. Contrajo matrimonio el 19 de abril 1982, con Gloria Lucy Viveros de cuya unión nacieron Sandra Patricia y Mónica Vanesa llenando de alegría su hogar. Empieza la familia a crecer con el nacimiento de sus nietas Kaitlyn y Natalie, hijas de Sandra y Gabriel Landaverde. En 2019, su hija Mónica Vanesa contrae matrimonio con Yas Reynold Rodríguez, en República Dominicana, con la presencia de toda su familia en aquel país. Su dedicación al trabajo no le permitió a Carlos Arturo gozar del descanso por lo que este viaje a República Dominicana lo disfruto con gran placer. A pesar de su salud quebrantada por un derrame cerebral Carlos Arturo continuó su vida laboral precisamente en este oficio contrae el coronavirus y en forma, por demás rápida, le causa la muerte el 22 de abril del 2020 en Overlook Medical Center, en Summit, NJ. Los sobreviven su esposa, sus hijas, sus nietas, y yernos. Además sus hermanos Rafael, Marta, Magdalena y José; y sus sobrinos Alex, Nancy, Lucy, Fredy, Julissa, Lisette, Sophie, Ralph Junior, Anthony, Jessica y Jennifer. Deja también su tía Ana Elisa García, primos y un sin número de familiares y amigos que lo extrañan y recordarán siempre. Carlos Arturo Garcia Jaque was born on December 13, 1949 in Bogota, Colombia. His parents were Sofia and Jose Gregorio Garcia; he was the second child of five. He graduated high school from Colegio De Los Andes and he went on to study accounting and obtain his degree in 1968. As an athlete he demonstrated a great ability in soccer and he played in various minor soccer leagues in Bogota. His ability in this sport helped him generate a small income during his teenage years. In 1969, the desire to help his family and find a better future brought him to the United States. In partnership with his older brother Ralph, he pursued various businesses which ultimately helped him reach many of his goals. In April 19,1982, he married Gloria Lucy Viveros. They had two girls Sandra Patricia and Monica Vanezza that filled their home with joy. The family continued growing with the birth of his two grandchildren, Kaitlyn and Natalie, born to Sandra and Gabriel Landaverde. In 2019, his youngest daughter Monica married Yas Reynold Rodriguez in Dominican Republic, in the loving company of their family. Carlos’ dedication to work rarely permitted him to relax and vacation; making this a joyous trip for Carlos and an unforgettable trip for his family. In spite of a disability left by a stroke suffered in 2015, Carlos returned to work. It was through work he became infected with COVID-19, which quickly took his life on April 22, 2020 at Overlook Medical Center in Summit, New Jersey. He leaves behind his wife, daughters, granddaughters, and son in laws; he also leaves his brother and sisters, Rafael, Marta, Luz Magdalena and Jose. As well as his nieces and nephews, Alex, Nancy, Lucy, Fredy Angelo, Julizza, Lissette, Sophie, Ralph Junior, Anthony, Jessica, and Jennifer. He also leaves behind his aunt Ana Elisa Garcia and many, cousins, family and friends who will miss him dearly.
