Mildred was a comfort to me when my mother passed . She never forgot my birthday ever, always sending me a card and remembering my brother, his wife and I at Christmas. We became even closer after her sister Florence passed and began calling each other every Sunday. She used to watch Joel Osteen on Sunday and told me about his sermons and how much she enjoyed them. I started watching Joel Osteen and we would talk about his sermons and the little joke he would tell his congregation at the start of the show. Later on when Mildred was in the nursing home, she was having problems gaining any access to the right tv channel to listen to her favorite show. So,on Sunday I would call and tell her the joke and give her a short version of J. Osteen's sermon. I know she really missed her Learning for Life friends and going to the meetings. She was over-joyed when some of her friends from L. for Life came to visit her in the N. home.
I will miss Mildred's voice and stories from the "old" days ....so sad.
