During the course of ones' life if you're lucky you are blessed by special individuals that improve who you are as a person. Nick was one of those people whom God blessed to me. I've been fortunate to have mentors in my life. Nick was one of those mentors, actually the last in my life so far. He, as those before him, had a profound affect on who I am today. Our mentors take on a huge responsibility when they decide to impart their wisdom and experience on us. They give freely, without looking for anything in return. They give their time and love to help make you a better person and to try and help you avoid some of the roadblocks in life that we all face. Nick was all of that and more. I will think of him throughout the rest of my days on the planet. I'll close with a quote from the movie The Green Mile that took place in a Tom Hanks narrative about living a long life. " The trouble with living so long is that you must endure the passing of all those that you loved and cared about before you" Nick had his share of that and now we must also endure that same loss that comes with his passing. The cycle of life is upon us. Remember Nick and embrace and love all those in your life as Nick did us. That would be the greatest honor to his memory.
