Dad,
Sometimes I didn’t understand why you did things or what you were thinking but I did see from the beginning that you are a hard working man who loved to teach and was passionate in your hobbies.
You’ve taught me little secrets to chinese cooking and the books you gave me I will always cherish. I refer to them often so I will think of you often too. You have opened my eyes to the wisdom of Chinese/alternative medicine (we both know I was absolutely resistant initially!) and the knowledge I possess and continue to obtain is probably the greatest gift anyone could give me. Because of you, I will continue to lead a healthier life and share it with the kids and my patients. In addition, I’ve learned to cook Chinese food pretty damn well, thanks to you and mom.
I know we have discussed our different beliefs, especially in religion (over lots of tea) through the years, but I want you to know i love you and I believe that you are now our guardian angel. Please watch over us and send us gentle reminders from time to time to let us know you are ok.
In my opinion (you know I had many :), God took you too soon but he wanted to give you eternal life. Take care of yourself and enjoy your journey. If you happen to bump into my Daddy in heaven, tell him I miss him dearly.
