Obituary of Angela G. Folli

Award Winning School Teacher ........... Orange Public Schools

Angela G. Folli of Orange, New Jersey and lately of Warren, NewJersey died on June 20th, 2020 at the Chelsea of Warren. She had suffered a stroke in late June 2017. She was 93 years of age.

She was the daughter of Luigia and Artaserse Folli who predeceased her.

Born in Orange, Angela was employed for many years as a teacher in the City of Orange Public School System and received several recognitions as a top teacher from the State of New Jersey. For many years she was nominated as a candidate for Teacher of the Year Award for the State of New Jersey and in 1987 she was the recipient of the New Jersey Governor's Teacher Recognition Award for Outstanding Teaching from Governor Tom Kean at the Governor's Convocation for Excellence in Education held at Princeton University.

She was an honors graduate of the New Jersey State Teacher's College, now Kean University. One of her professors at college wrote in her yearbook "if there were 2,000,000 people like you this would be a more wonderful world."

She loved the teaching profession, especially teaching young children in their formative years, and she was always informed and interested in local, state, and national politics. She was a lifetime member of educational associations, NJEA, ECREA, NEA, and NJREA. She was elected to membership in Kappa Delta Pi, Delta Rho Chapter, a National Honor Society in Education.

She is survived by her brother Arthur and his wife Margaret of Warren, NJ. She is also survived by her nephew Gregory and his wife Leslie and their daughter Paige. Also, by three nieces, eight grand nieces, three grand nephews and cousins. Her siblings, Amelia Folli, Louise Gozidlow, Gloria Colalillo and Albert Folli predeceased her.

A Funeral Mass celebrating her life will be held at 11:00 on Monday June 29th, 2020 at Our Lady of the Mount RC Church where she was a communicant as part of the Chelsea Assisted Living family. The interment will follow immediately at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in East Hanover. Funeral services are under the direction of Higgins Home for Funerals, Watchung, NJ.
