Obituary of Anthony L. Pacciano

Anthony L. Pacciano, age 98, passed away on Sunday, June 21, 2020, at his home in Warren surrounded by his loving family. Born in Jersey City, he had resided in Iselin and Florida before moving to Warren in 2001. Anthony served in the Army/Airforce during World War II and was honorably discharged on February 26, 1946 with the rank of Sergeant. He worked as a Machinist with Thomas & Betts for many years. Anthony was a very active member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel in Jersey City as a youth. He also volunteered at St. Bonaventure Health Care Facility as the Family Counsel President, organizing monthly birthday parties and many additional family activities. In his spare time, he enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, erector sets, carpentry and electrical work. He loved spending time with his family and will be sorely missed. Tony loved his wife and family. He showered them with love and affection till the end. His energy and love for people was infectious. Wherever he went, people knew who he was and if they didn't he made sure to say hello and share one of his famous antics like' "If you need me, I'll call you.' And with every person he met and with every project he took on, he had the love of his life at his side. He and his wife, Terry, were, as he coined them, T -N-T for Terry and Tony, of course, but together they were really dynamite. He loved her with all his heart and he was never afraid to show it. He had every special moment in their life memorized and he would never hesitate to proudly share those dates. Their love and commitment for their over 70 year marriage was true love personified Tony was the most gentle man ever. He NEVER complained. He always said "Thank you". The last few years of his life he had 2 of the most loving and caring caregivers. They would always comment on how he thanked them for getting his meals, helping him get in and out of bed, giving him his medications etc. There was nothing too small that he didn't appreciate Tony lived out his last years with the love of his life by his side in a mother/daughter home with his daughter and her family, wonderful caregivers and a family who loved him immensely I know he would want us to celebrate him and not cry but to think of him and smile and remember all the good times together. So with that said, "Dad, we love you so much. We will miss you and we'll take good care of mom" and remember,"if you need me I'll call you," Survived by his loving wife Theresa; his son Gary Pacciano and his wife Ann Marie his daughter Sharon Ferrante and her husband Ron; 4 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. A visitation will be held on Thursday, June 25, 2020 from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung, NJ. A Funeral Mass will follow at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of the Mount Church, Warren. Interment will follow Mass at St. Gertrude's Cemetery, Colonia.
