Helen Melesius, 90, of Basking Ridge, N.J., passed away on Monday, July 6, 2020 at Fellowship Village.
Born in Cuba, Helen moved to the United States and resided in Woodhaven, N.Y. She worked in the import-export industry in New York City, and always marveled at the construction of the World Trade Center. After a successful career, she retired with her husband John to Miller Place Park, N.Y., and eventually moved to Bedminster, N.J. to be closer to family.
Helen and her husband John were members and active participants of Blessed Sacrament Church in Martinsville, N.J.
She loved her time at Fellowship Village, playing Scrabble, Rummikub, and Canasta, and dining with her many friends. When not busy at the Village, she spent her time bringing together three generations as she visited her family for weekly Sunday dinners, summer barbeques, and all holidays.
Helen was known for her lucky streaks when it came to cards, gambling, and football pools (all outstanding debts are forgiven).
She enjoyed nothing more than spending time with family; she is survived by her beloved son, John Melesius, her daughter-in-law Laura, and three granddaughters Christina, Stefanie, and Andrea.
