Obituary of Joseph Kvederas
J. Thomas Kvederas, age 76, fought a valiant battle and entered heaven peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, April 2, 2014 at Somerset Medical Center, Somerville. He was born in New Brunswick was raised in Piscataway, resided in Dunellen and Plainfield before moving to Basking Ridge in 1972.
He served in the United States Army and Army Reserves.
He was a member of the Liberty Corner Rescue Squad.
Tom was the Vice President of United National Bank in Plainfield and was a Real Estate Appraisor.
He was the President of the Circus Model Railroad Builders. Tom enjoyed fishing, crabbing, cooking and watching the New York Giants. He also loved traveling all over the world.
Surviving are his beloved wife of 52 years, Mary Jane Kvederas; his sons; Kevin, Chris and Brian Kvederas; his sister, Nan Larson and his two grandchildren, Jane Anne and Eva Jane.
Friends and family are invited to the visitation for a celebration of Thomas' life on Friday, April 4, 2014 from 4-7 p.m. at Higgins Home For Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung. Funeral Services will begin on Saturday, at 9:00 a.m. at Higgins Home For Funerals, followed by a 10:00 a.m. Mass Of Resurrection at St. James RC Church, Basking Ridge followed by the cremation at Somerset Hills Memorial Park, Basking Ridge.
