Obituary of Patrick V. Bellone
Patrick V. Bellone, Sr. age 80, passed away on Sunday, August 16, 2020 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital at Somerset in Somerville. Born and raised in Plainfield, he had resided in Fanwood for the last 49 years and was a familiar face around town.
Patrick was a veteran of the US Army. Prior to retiring, he was a foreman with the Fanwood Public Works Department for 45 years.
He was a member of St. Bartholomew's RC Church in Scotch Plains. In his spare time, he enjoyed metal detecting and was a huge Civil War buff, especially anything to do with Abe Lincoln. Patrick's greatest joy was spending time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He always had a smile or a kind word and will be sorely missed.
Predeceased by his beloved wife Jean Francis Bellone in 2016 and his brother John Bellone, Jr. in 2019.
Survived by his daughters Debbie Zotti and her husband Bobby and Marie Morgan and her husband Danny and his son Patrick Bellone, Jr. and his husband Kyvan; grandsons Michael Zotti and his wife Natalie, Matthew Morgan and his fiancée Kathryn and James Morgan and his wife Cassandra; great-grandchildren Kallie, Michael, Noah and Paige.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, August 20, 2019 from 3-7 p.m. at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung, NJ. A funeral gathering will begin on Friday, August 21, 2020, at 9 a.m. at the funeral home followed by a 10 a.m. Funeral Mass at St. Bartholomew's RC Church in Scotch Plains. Interment will follow at Holy Redeemer Cemetery, South Plainfield.
