Obituary of Robert Eisele

Robert John Eisele, 75, passed away peacefully with his wife by his side\ on Friday, August 21, 2020. Born in the Bronx in 1945 to Frederick and Beatrice Eisele, the family later moved to Ridgewood, NJ where Robert spent his adolescence. Following high school, Robert joined the Air Force with assignments in Germany and stateside before his honorable discharge in 1971. He worked for Freeman Securities and later at Fein, Such, Kahn & Shepard until his retirement. Robert was a member of the congregation at St. Mary’s-Stony Hill and actively volunteered as Sacristan for Sunday and daily morning masses. Robert married the love of his life, Joanna Chismar Jablow, in October 1990. They shared almost 30 years of love, laughter, and a passion for cruising and sports. They honeymooned in Bermuda and traveled there almost every year making sure to play mini-golf each time. Robert was a life-long New York Yankees and New York Giants fan. He loved cheering on both teams, and quietly rooted for the Mets and Jets, as well. Robert was an avid golfer and enjoyed playing with his father, brother-in-law and nephews. When not watching Golf or Soccer on TV, he could be found taking on puzzles in the local newspaper. Robert was predeceased by his mother Beatrice McLarney Eisele and sister Barbara Mokos. In addition to Joanna, he is survived by his daughter, Leanna Truncali (Paul) of Warwick, NY and his son, Leon Jablow (Lisa) of Tampa, FL. He was especially proud of his grandchildren with whom he had a very close relationship: Joseph Jablow, Sara Truncali, Caroline Jablow and Emily Truncali. Robert is also survived by his stepmother Beatrice Eisele of Sarasota, FL, sisters: Dorothy Wolf of East Hampton, CT, Joan Pach of Moodus, CT and Deirdre Sabata (Bill) of Fuquay-Varina, NC, sister in law Georgine Chismar, Jersey City, NJ and numerous nieces and nephews. Robert was more than a husband, father, grandfather and friend. He was selfless, courageous, and loved by all. Everyone's life he touched has been forever changed for the better. He was a blessing to have in all our lives and will be missed dearly. Our memories of him will always be in our hearts and his spirit will shine through as we strive to make him proud.
