Obituary of Eduardo Galo Acosta
Eduardo Acosta, age 76, passed away on Wednesday, September 16, 2020 at the Hunterdon Medical Center in Flemington, NJ. Eduardo was born to Manuel and Elba Acosta and spent the first 25 years of his life in Ecuador. He moved to Belleville, NJ in 1969 and later moved to Newark, NJ in 1982, where he resided until he made Flemington, NJ his home in 2007.
Eduardo attended Don Bosco High School in Quito, Ecuador, and later studied at the Essex County Schools of Technology. He was employed as a Supervisor at Omega Plastics in Lyndhurst, NJ and X-L Plastics in Harrison, NJ. Eduardo retired in 2009.
Eduardo was a parishioner at St. Peter’s Church in Belleville, NJ.
Eduardo was a lively and active man who enjoyed watching and playing soccer with his grandchildren and children. In addition, he enjoyed playing pool, volleyball, ping-pong, cards, and loved to dance.
He is survived by his wife, Alicia Acosta, and his children: Patricia DePinho and her husband John, Paulina Lara and her husband Jorge, Eduardo and his wife Evelyn, Marlon and his wife Eva, Elizabeth Vassallo and her husband Jan, and Omar. He is further survived by his 13 grandchildren: Michael, George, Sarah, Johnny, Samantha, Megan, Patty, Eddie, Matthew, Michael, Isabella, Gianna and Valentina. He is also survived by two siblings, his sisters Carmela and Guadalupe.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, September 20, 2020 at 2:00 to 6:00 pm at Higgins Home for Funerals. A Funeral mass will be held Monday, September 21, 2020 at 11:00 am at Our Lady of the Mount Church in Warren, NJ. Entombment will follow the Mass at Holy Cross Cemetery in Basking Ridge, NJ.
