We too are grateful to have been aboard the train, in the car next to the Carter family. Lovely Kathryn will be remembered with a smile. Undoubtedly, the smile in her heart was for her beloved son, in whom she was well pleased. God bless.

Thank you for sharing the service for Kathryn for those of us who could not attend in person. I first met Kathryn 50 years ago as a 15 year old through my mother, Anne Smith Foster. Kathryn spent many times at our home while I was in high school and college. We even connected several times after I was married and had a family of my own and each of us moved around the country. The years between the visits, though long, quickly melted away as we reminisced of the times we had together. Kathryn will be greatly missed but long remembered as a warm, kind woman with an incredible sense of humor, an infectious laugh and smile.

The entire Staff of Carlton Senior Living Fremont would like to extend our deepest condolences to James and Eliana Smith. Kathryn was such an amazing woman. She had the most beautiful smile! She was adored by all Staff as well as her fellow Residents. Kathryn would constantly talk about both you and how much she appreciated everything you both did for her. You two were at Carlton so much visiting her. We miss Kathryn very much! You are always welcome here so please keep in touch. It gives us peace to know that Kathryn is smiling on us from heaven now. Our thoughts and prayers are with you!!

Jimmy & Eliana,
You can shed tears tears that she is gone or you can smile because she has lived. You can smile because she has lived. You can close your eyes and pray that she’ll come back or you can open your eyes and see all she’s left. Your heart can be empty because
you can’t see her or can be full of the love you shared. You can turn your back on tomorrow and live for yesterday or you can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday. You can remember her only that she is gone or you can cherish her memory and let it live on. You can cry and close your mind, be empty and turn your back.
“Or you can do what she’d want, Smile, Open Your Eyes, Love, and Go On.
Aunt Kathryn, you will always be in our Hearts!
Love Paul.

Dear Jimi and Family,
My heartfelt sympathy goes out to you and your family as you experience the loss of your precious Mother. It has to be iof some comfort knowing that you, being her heart and soul, were all that she could have ever wanted in a son, devoted to her for her lifetime. You’ll carry your Mom’s spirit with you always.
The very beautiful Kathryn Carter Smith, who had an inner beauty as well as an outward one, will stay in that special place in our hearts and be remembered for her sweet smile, kind and gentle ways and those eyes that sparkled with humor, wisdom and love. It was both a blessing and a privilege to call her my friend. Rest in Heavenly Peace, dear Kathryn, Rise in Glory!
Praying for you,
Gwen Crews
