Obituary of Donna C. Pepe
DONNA PEPE
August 10, 1950 – October 1, 2020
Sadly, my kid-sister is no longer with us. Donna never regained consciousness following a stroke. She was 70 years old.
Those that knew her well remember a beautiful woman that turned heads whenever she walked by. I remember a toddler who was cuter than Shirley Temple. Honestly, at three years old, Donna would peg the needle on the cuteness - o - meter. But it was her personality that kept people coming back. A great sense of humor, and a smile to go with it. Donna was known to help others before helping herself. That was not always a good thing.
Donna and I were born and raised in a stereotypical Italian family - Loud, animated, known for great food. Donna could make a better pasta sauce than mom. Sorry mom. Did I mention our “Italian temper?” As kids, we “fought” like cats and dogs. Then, we grew up. As adults, life got in the way. We were pulled in different directions. Phone calls and visits were less frequent. I wish there had been a better ending to the last chapter of her life.
She will rest with our parents in Stoney Hill Cemetery, Watchung, NJ. A service will not be held at this time due to the pandemic. It’s just as well because Donna would be pissed off (her words) if she knew there was a party in her name and couldn’t attend. Still, we can all raise a glass in her honor, and remember the good times.
Love You Sis,
