Obituary of Giovanni Cordileone

Giovanni Cordileone, age 90, passed away on Wednesday, October 7, 2020 at Morristown Memorial Hospital in Morristown, NJ. Giovanni was born and raised in Ragusa, Italy and resided in Hackensack, NJ for 20 years before making Warren, NJ his home for the past 12 years. Giovanni retired in 1995 from Hackensack Medical Center after working there in Environmental Services for many years. He was a parishioner at Our Lady of the Mount Church in Warren, New Jersey. Giovanni enjoyed spending his time by gardening, reading, coloring, and coin collecting. Most of all, he loved annoying his dear wife of 56 years, Maria Giovanni is predeceased by his brother Joseph Cordileone. He is survived by his wife Maria Cordileone, his son John and his wife Irene, his daughters Tina DeGraw and husband Ken, Frances Schnell and husband Brian, and Louisa Mayo and husband Jorge. He is further survived by 8 grandchildren: Tyler, Brian Jr., Dominique, Kyle, Tiffany, John Richard, Samantha, and Gianna. He is also survived by his sisters Biagina DePasquale, Lena Squillace and husband Vincent, and Marie Weigel and husband Bill. A visitation will be held on Monday, October 12, 2020 from 5:00 to 9:00 pm at Higgins Home for Funerals in Watchung, NJ. A funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, October 13, 2020 at Our Lady of the Mount at 11:00 am. Entombment will follow at Gate of Heaven cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Padre Pio, Friends of Radio Maria – New York, and Our Lady of the Mount.
