Obituary of Catherine Ravaioli

Catherine Ravaioli “Kathy”, age 82, passed away peacefully at her home, holding the hand of her youngest child, on October 28, 2020. Born and raised in Elizabeth, NJ, Kathy moved frequently throughout her life and was a resident of Port Reading, Sewaren, Miltown, Berkeley Heights, and Basking Ridge, before settling in Somerset, NJ, with her husband, Libero. Gifted with a beautiful singing voice, Kathy hummed and sang regularly, invariably eliciting joy and glory and could lighten the day with her infectious laughter. Kathy lived her life in service to her family, friends, and religious community. She tirelessly put others before herself and dedicated herself to being a caring wife and mother. A devout Catholic and prayer warrior, Kathy donated her time and resources to Christ the Redeemer Parish in Manville. The daughter of Vincent and Angelina LaRocca, Kathy is survived by her husband of over 64 years, Libero; her six children: Kevin (Cheryl), Keith (Ned), Kent (Renee), Lisa (Kristina), Kraig (April), and Angela; and her siblings: Carlotta LaRocca and Charles (Karen) LaRocca; her 12 beloved grandchildren and 6 beloved great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held Thursday, November 5, 2020, from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung, NJ. There will be a second visitation on Friday, November 6, 2020, at Christ the Redeemer Parish, 98 South 2nd Avenue, Manville, NJ, from 8:30 am to 9:30 am. A funeral mass will commence at 9:30 am and entombment at Holy Cross Cemetery in Basking Ridge will follow.
