Obituary of Florence N. Schwartz
Florence N. Schwartz, age 83, passed away suddenly on Saturday morning October 31, 2020 at her home in Warren, NJ. Born and raised in the Bronx, NY, Florence had resided in Paramus, NJ and Boca Raton, FL before settling in Warren 40 years ago.
Florence attended New York University where she met her spouse and lifelong partner, Robert. Florence earned her bachelor's degree in marketing from New York University in 1958. Robert and Florence were married soon after in 1959.
Florence began her career as a buyer for Lord and Taylor's in Manhattan. In 1962, Florence and Robert started a family with the birth of their son, Roger. Florence and Bob grew their loving family over the years with three girls, Karen, Barbara, and Joanna. After their children had grown, Florence decided to return to work in the retail industry for various companies in the local area.
Florence was a loving and generous wife, mother and grandmother. No one in the family can ever remember a time she said the word "No". Florence loved traveling, especially to her two favorite cities New Orleans and New York City. When she was younger, she and her husband enjoyed taking cruises and travelling around the world. She was a lifelong Yankee fan and loved cheering for her two favorite players, Joe DiMaggio and Derek Jeter. She was fond of nature and animals, especially her family's pets. Florence was also an excellent cook. In her spare time Florence could be found watching the Food Network or doing a crossword puzzle. Most of all she loved spending time with her family. She will be greatly missed by all.
She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Robert Schwartz, four children Roger Schwartz and his wife Monika, Karen Howard and her husband James, Barbara Schwartz and her husband John Rech and Joanna Saadah and her husband Abdallah, and two sisters, Rose Tipaldi and Joan Festa. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, Emily and Rebecca Howard, William and Jenna Schwartz, and Madelyn, Allison and Carly Saadah, as well as many nieces and nephews. Florence was preceded in death by her loving sisters, Josephine Pranzo and Gloria Ferraro.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 4, 2020 at Our Lady of the Mount RC Church on Mt. Bethel Road in Warren from 10 am to 11 am followed by a funeral mass at the church at 11am. The interment will be at Somerset Hills Memorial Park in Basking Ridge following the mass.
