I am heartbroken to hear of Chris’s passing. Chris was one of the most beautiful spirits I have known—always a uniter and a peacemaker. He was also one of the fastest people North Plainfield has ever seen, and his footspeed was outmatched only by his quickness of humor. I loved Chris, and as kids we were nearly inseparable for a long time. I still feel that way, though adulthood has interfered as, I guess, it does. While we’ve been out of touch for a while, too long, I can’t believe we’ve had our last hangout. In fact, I do not believe that.
Chris was on the other end of 90% of the passes I threw or caught as a kid, and any time I threw him a lob or a bomb, in any game you can think of, I knew he’d be able to catch it, like lightning. But he caught more than passes, too. He used to catch frogs at Green Acres, which, back then, we would attempt to do a lot for some reason. He had an uncanny ability to both find and catch them, never hurting any, always returning them safely. While I would just catch sight of a splash or hear a croak as they dove into the pond or the Stony Brook, he would have a bucket of them filled—like lightning. In hindsight, I believe he was training.
Later, as we grew up, he caught people, all the time, right when they needed him to. I saw it again and again. Like lightning--he would be there. Growing up, he caught me more than once, and taught me how to catch others, too. Even him, sometimes.
I also know that each of us has so much more to say, more laughs to share with him, and more Hail Marys to toss his way. He may have pushed on to another world from this one, but I know we will keep throwing him passes, and that his spirit will keep on catching them—catching us, and helping us catch one another—until we meet again.
All of my love to the Davis family, the Macaro family, and everyone else who loved, was loved, and was caught by Chris.

I was sincerely saddened when I heard the news . Unfortunately , I didn't get a chance to know Chris Davis the man. But I did know Chris Davis the boy. And he was one of the coolest boys in the neighborhood. The world is definitely sadder today knowing that he's not a part of it.
My condolences to the friends and family of a really great guy.

My condolences to the Davis and Macaro family. I’ll always remember Chris for his amazing sense of humor and sincerity. I will forever cherish our friendship. Despite not seeing him as often the last several years, every time we did it was as it no time had passed at all which is a true testament to our unconditional friendship.
An Irish Blessing:
May the road rise to meet you.
May the wind be always at your back.
May the sunshine warm upon your face.
May the rain fall upon your fields.
And until we meet again,
May God hold you in the hollow of His hand.

Chris was one of those friends that gave from his heart every time he was with you and made you feel like you were the most important person in the room. We were close friends in NP when we were younger and he always encouraged me to do things I would have been otherwise afraid to do (play football, run track, street hockey, etc.) but with Chris around I found the courage to do it and most importantly he showed me how to have fun along the way. I will always remember his kindness and unconditional friendship. Thank you Chris, I love you Brother

Chris was one of my few best friends and a brother. He was one of the funniest, most outgoing, would light up a room people I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. Chris was a great athlete, whether it was playing b ball in his backyard, football at West End or destroying the competition in track..he melted the track. He was focused on being the best and being the best for the team and proved it over and over again. Chris was a great person and a great friend and I will always miss him. -Jeff Condron

Chris was my cousin, and someone I admired greatly. Despite me being younger, he always made sure I felt included when the family got together. His laughter and smile could light up the whole room. He shared his light and his love with everyone he met. There will always be a special place in my heart for him, and I will never forget the many long nights spent laughing around the dining table. Thank you Chris, for bringing joy to the lives of so many. May you Rest In Peace ❤️

My condolences to Chris’ entire family. We grew up on the same street and were very close friends throughout our entire childhood. He was such a funny and kind person and I am so sad to hear this. My childhood includes so many memories that Chris was a part of and I will remember them, and him, always.

Chris was my nephew. He was one of the sweetest, kindest, loyal and hard working people I have ever known. When we had family parties he could make the whole room laugh hysterically with his antics. He loved to cook with his mother and actually was quite good at it. So many really loved him and he will be missed forever.

I met Chris in 8th grade. My first thought when I met him was, "this is North Plainfield's very own Jim Carrey. We need to be friends." So glad I made that choice. Every time I was around him he made me laugh more than anyone else. I will always remember Chris and cherish the memories of all the laughs we shared.

I coached Chris in Rec baseball. Always fun to be around. Nice kid, seemed to always be smiling. Made one of the best catches ever in Rec, sprinting in centerfield and catching the ball over his head. Amazing. Really sad to hear of his passing.
