Obituary of Charlotte Bradley
Charlotte Bradley, age 83, passed away on Thursday, February 11, 2021, peacefully surrounded by her family. Charlotte was raised in Watchung, N.J. She and her husband John raised their family in Warren. Most recently she was a long-time resident of Hunterdon County for the past 20 years.
Charlotte’s compassion and empathy was the catalyst for her success as a Nurse. Charlotte loved interacting with the patients and they loved her back. She thrived in her position working as a Nurse and Office Manager for the esteemed Dr. Kevin Bell in Warren, NJ. A friendship that would continue for more than 32 years. She left this position to care for her ailing husband at age 73.
Charlotte’s greatest love was for her family. What she loved most was having her children gathered especially for holidays with their spouses and her grandchildren. As a great cook, she will be remembered for her stuffing on Thanksgiving, delicious BBQ’s, her simple dish called “garbage”, for the best comfort, Chicken Noodle Soup that could be made, and her love of Irish Coffee. Her children were her world and they idolized her as well. All were welcome at Charlotte’s table. She also had a way of becoming everybody’s Grandma. Friends of her children would end up calling her Ma or Grandma. Several Thanksgivings were spent with strangers at her family’s table who had nowhere else to go. There were no strangers to her.
She is predeceased by her husband, John F. Bradley Sr., who passed away in 2013. A brief romance as teenagers lent itself to a marriage of 58 years. She referred to John as her “Patrick Swayze”, the bad boy who had a love for fast cars. When a siren was heard around Watchung Circle, her father would say, “There goes that John!”
She is also predeceased by her three siblings Willis Douglas, Thomas Douglas, and Mary Baker.
She is survived by her three adoring children: Kim (Joel) Bradus, John(Noreen) Bradley, and Glenn (Tara Cambria) Bradley; her six grandchildren: Ashling Foster, Kaylin Foster, Alyssa Bradley, Christopher Bradley, Andrew Bradley, and Aneel DeAlbuquerque.
A Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 20, 2021, from 1:00 p.m. - 4 p.m. at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung. A Memorial Service will take place at 2:30 p.m. at the Funeral Home during the visitation.
