Obituary of Peter P. Usher
Peter P. Usher, age 92, passed away on Friday, February 26, 2021. He was born and raised in Belleville, NJ, and he was a longtime resident of Union before moving to Bridgewater in 1991.
Peter graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree, in Mechanical Engineering, from the Newark College of Engineering in 1950.
Afterward, he worked as Vice President of Engineering for Metex Corp of Edison, manufacturing knitted wire mesh products.
He was a parishioner of Blessed Sacrament Church in Martinsville.
Peter loved playing golf, was known to be a Renaissance man who could fix anything and enjoyed spending time at the beach with his family at Cape Cod.
He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Marie Usher; his three children: Mary Anne Usher of Bridgewater, Susan Abys and her husband, Joseph, and Mark Usher and his wife, Jolanta; and his five grandchildren: Alessandro Abys, Christian Abys, Michael Usher, Peter A. Usher, and Joseph Usher.
A Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 2, 2021, at 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung, NJ. A Funeral Mass will follow at 10:30 a.m. at Blessed Sacrament Church, 890 Washington Valley Road, Martinsville, NJ. He will be laid to rest at Holy Cross Cemetery in Basking Ridge.
Memorial donations may be made in his name to Grace Hospice.
