Curtis,
Even with the passage of time, it doesn't get any easier. Danny and I miss you very much. You were, in so many ways, a big brother and always a true friend. This world has been left a bit hollow without you. I pray for you, Ruth and Nicole. I do believe you're in a better place where "being" is easier. That helps. Love you always. Happy Birthday.

My Uncle Curtis is an awesome guy! He's helpful, friendly, strong, determined and hardworking. I was influenced a lot by his qualities when I was growing up. I have really only 1 odd memory that I equate to him. When I think of my uncle Curtis I think of the movie Howard The Duck. I was spending the weekend at my grandparents when their power went out due to a bad summer storm. One of my cousins was spending the weekend with me and we were freaked out. My grandma drove us to Curtis' house a couple miles away. I remember he rented the Vhs, Howard The Duck. In this memory, I remember feeling a safe and okay. My Uncle Curtis' energy made me peaceful and safe. He was one of the coolest people I knew. I also remember listening to 70s Rock music in his truck when he took me to the store.

My uncle Curtis is an Inspiration and guiding light of how to live a life in the service of his family. He his great sense of humor could deal with anything as was his ability to solve EVERYONES problems. Uncle Curtis put everyone before himself, many times, at his own expense. Curt set so high a bar on how to live your life, I don’t think if I spent the rest of my life trying to help, I could come close to his Excellence, selflessness and Grandeur. Curt, I love you and thanks for being my uncle. I will mis our talks....

My heartfelt condolences to Ruth and Nicole.
Curtis was an amazing brother, friend and confidant. As an adult my love, appreciation and respect for him grew.
He gave his best to each of us and this kindness made him many people to all of us who loved him:
A Devoted Husband and Loving Father, Ruth and Nicole were his priority. He was especially proud of Nicole and her accomplishments;
A Cherished Son, Brother, Nephew and Cousin, he lovingly made time and gave help generously even when the responsibilities of his life made it nearly impossible;
A Real-life Superman who could do and fix almost anything and was always up for a challenge… finding solutions gave him great satisfaction;
A Diplomat who didn’t choose sides but heard all of them;
A Born Leader who used his authority responsibly and respectfully: his decisions were based on what was best for everyone and not anyone in particular;
A Generous Man, he gave aid and opportunities to many when he did not get them himself.
My and Everybody’s Favorite for being all the people above.
I’m happy that I told Curt he was all of this, not just once but repeatedly. He was humble when it came to receiving praise and brushed it off because I think he felt embarrassed… or suspicious, more the former than the latter.
In our last conversation Curt told me his plans and was optimistic about the future. He told me he wanted what was best for me. I told him that I trusted him, that he was truly family, that nobody knew or understood me better than him, and that I loved him.
With the time left to me I hope I can be more like Curt because when my time comes, I want him to be as proud of me as I am of him.

My condolences to The Walters family. I worked with Curtis at Flowserve for nearly 8 years. He was a very bright man and good guy to work with. He always put his family first caring for his wife but still worked hard to help run our shop. I became close to him over the years working together during very busy times. He will be missed!

Curtis - Guiding light. Guardian angel. Dear friend. You were more like a brother than a cousin. Life won't be the same without you. My heart is broken. Ruth, Nicole, Aunt Roni, Lynne, Richie, Stasia, Mary and David and all others who knew and loved him...I am so sorry for your loss.
