Obituary of Margaret M Stripto

Margaret Stripto, age 91, of Kunkletown, passed away on Friday, April 25, 2014 at Pocono Medical Center, East Stroudsburg. Born and raised in Summit, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Frances and Anthony Crispi. When she married, she moved to Plainfield, NJ and then to North Plainfield, NJ where she resided for more than 50 years. She worked at Bamberger's/Macy's in Plainfield, NJ for many years and was a member of the Italian American Club and the Traveling Seniors of North Plainfield. She is predeceased by her parents; her beloved husband, Angelo M. Stripto who passed away on January 19, 1992; and her sisters, Mary Giordano and Lena Morraele. Surviving are her daughter, Mary Ann Gitch and her husband, Joseph with whom she resided, her son Angelo M. Stripto, Jr. and his wife, Kathryn of Forkes Township; grandchildren, Caitlin Stripto of Forkes Township, Matthew Gitch and Robin Costenbader of Albrightsville; her sister, Eleanor Cervone of Madison, NJ, sister-in-law, Pauline Nigro of Plainfield, NJ and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Monday, April 28, 2014 from 4-8 p.m. at Higgins Home For Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung. Funeral services will begin on Tuesday, April 29 at 9:00 a.m. at the funeral home followed by a 10:00 a.m. Mass of Resurrection at St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, North Plainfield. The interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery, Scotch Plains.
