Obituary of Mary Frances Reuter
Mary Frances Reuter, age 94, passed away peacefully on Tuesday May 4, 2021 in Peapack surrounded by her loving family. Born and raised in Pottsville, PA, Mary had resided in Rahway before settling in Green Brook in 1943.
During World War II, Mary was a member of the secretarial pool at Merck Pharmaceuticals in Rahway where she met her husband Arthur William Reuter Sr. Prior to her retirement in 2016 at age 86, Mary had worked for many years as an aide at the Middlesex County Vocational School in Piscataway.
She had been a communicant of St. John the Evangelist RC Church in Dunellen since 1943.
In her spare time Mary enjoyed knitting, reading, and playing board games. She was an avid Mets fan and an excellent baker. Most of all she loved being with her family, especially her 13 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren; she will be missed by all.
Mary is predeceased by her husband Arthur William Reuter Sr., her son Arthur William Jr., her daughter Katherine McCrone-Dennison and three sons-in-law Mark Lytwyn, Thomas McCrone and Kenneth Dennison.
She is survived by her children Barbara Lytwyn, Nancy Hale and Bill Reuter and his fiancée Christine Roach; 13 grandchildren Erin (Chris), Matt (Jessica), Justin (Marianne), Brian, Julie (Justin), Joe, Reid, Kelsey (Andrew), Brianne (Cesar), Arianna, Kaylee, Alexa, and Christopher (Brittney) and eight great grandchildren Katherine, Dylan, Madelyn, Owen, Mateo, Elliot, Liam and Brody.
A Visitation will be held on Thursday May 6th, 2021 at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung, NJ 07069 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Funeral Services will begin on Friday, May 7th, 2021, at the Funeral Home at 9:00 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist RC Church in Dunellen. The Interment will be held at Resurrection Cemetery in Piscataway. For family and friends that are unable to attend the funeral mass, it will be Live Streamed at https://www.hdezwebcast.com/show/mary-reuter.
