I was just googling Bob today because I knew he was sick, but never knew what happened. I was genuinely sad to hear about this. He was an amazing man and mentor and I'm sad that I didn't get a chance to talk to him before he passed.

Bob was a kind and caring man, and a great businessman rolled into one person. My sympathies are extended to Janice and the entire family. You could not ask for a better boss and friend, and he helped me many times both personally and professionally. Bob will be missed, but also remembered for the many lives he touched.

Our deepest sympathies to the entire Salerno family.
Dave and I held Bob in such high regard. He was a great leader who led with integrity and selflessness.
Dave first met Bob during the Ultacision integration back in 1995. After 20 years with JNJ when we both got downsized/displaced, it was Bob who connected with us trying to help. We will never forget that kindness.
Warmly. Dave and Kim Cantin

Bob was my first manager at J&J and I was blessed to work with him when he was the VP Ops and President. I will always remember Bob as a person with the highest integrity and ethics. He always looked for what was the right thing to do for employees and customers. He showed his love and devotion to his family openly and was a role model of how to work hard for the Company and still keep your family focus. He'll be greatly missed until we can join him in heaven.

We were so sorry to hear of Bob's passing. Although we've been out of touch for many years, I feel fortunate to have been able to know and work with Bob at Ethicon back in the mid-80's. I was just out of college at the time, and he was a great friend and mentor. We will be making a donation to the MMRF in his name. Our condolences to Janice and the rest of the Salerno family. I have several special memories of Bob, who was such an amazing and caring person.
The one that stands out is when Bob wanted to buy Janice a handheld (in the days before iPhones). As Bob's IT team member, Bob asked me a lot of questions to ensure he got just the right one for Janice. After he gave Janice the gift, I asked how she liked it, only to learn that not only had Bob bought the handheld, but he wanted Janice to be able to use it immediately, so he had also entered names, addresses, and phone numbers of all friends and family. Where this busy man found the time to do this was beyond me, but over time I learned that this was just typical of Bob who was always example to us of complete thoughtfulness and caring.
And yes, I must admit that after sharing this story with other women on our team, we all decided Bob needed to give our husbands some lessons.
I will always think of Bob as leading by example in everything in did. I learned from Bob how to be a respected leader, how to always do what is right (even when it is the hard thing to do), and what it means to be a genuinely kind and caring person. I will miss him tremendously, but also know how lucky and honored I am to have had him in my life.
My heartfelt condolences go to Janice, Kristin and Michael, as they go through the painful process. May time fill your void with warm and loving memories of Bob, and may you feel his love for you forever.

Janice and Family,
I was saddened to hear of Bob's passing. He was a great friend, mentor, and leader.
I will never forget our work together at the Blue Ash / Montgomery Rotary Club. Even though he was one of the busiest men I knew he always had time for volunteering and community service.
In thinking back over the years, I want you to know how much Bob taught me about friendship, leadership, kindness, being a man of your word, dependability, and, in the last few years, courage, strength, determination, and handling life's worst situations with grace and dignity.
I will really miss Bob but he has left a mark on my heart that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.
God Bless You,
Alex

I loved Bob like a father… I had the most amazing gift of having Bob in my life for five years. While this may seem like too short a period of time, I am forever grateful that I had him in my life. Every time I talked to this man, he taught me a lesson – I’m not exaggerating, I learned something new every time. He was one of the most compassionate, magnanimous, and gifted men I have ever known. All he ever asked of me in return was to take care of his daughter…. A promise of which I pledge to remain eternally committed. I love you Bob – I always will. You will never be forgotten.

Cancer is so limited...
It cannot cripple love.
It cannot shatter hope.
It cannot corrode faith.
It cannot eat away peace.
It cannot destroy confidence.
It cannot kill friendship.
It cannot shut out memories.
It cannot silence courage.
It cannot reduce eternal life.
It cannot quench the Spirit.
We love you and miss you Uncle Bob.

There was a goodness about him, expressed through his great humor, or intense interest in each one of us, that made him special. Thank you, Lord Jesus, for the gift of Bob Salerno. And thank you, Salerno family, for sharing him with us. We are praying for you.
