Obituary of Shaquita R. Booker
Shaquita R. Booker, age 34, passed away peacefully on Sunday June 6, 2021 at Overlook Medica Center in Summit, New Jersey. Born and raised in Plainfield, Shaquita spent most of her life in Plainfield before moving to North Plainfield last year.
Shaquita had attended Plainfield High School and worked as a retail sales associate throughout her career.
She was known for her amazing artistic ability; her artwork can be seen on many of her family and friends today as the tattoos she gave them. Shaquita had a love of music and dance, often she could be found singing and dancing to her favorite songs.
Shaquita also had a wonderful relationship with her family and friends, especially her mother. One of their favorite jokes together was Shaquita’s mom, Karen, calling to her “Shaquita please go to the store for me! You are my favorite daughter.” Shaquita would gleefully reply “Mom, I’m your ONLY daughter!”
Shaquita loved the Lord. She was a caring person who loved spending time with her family and friends, especially her only daughter Nyeemah. Shaquita will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
She is predeceased by her grandparents Shirley Irby and Sarah and Marie Booker.
She is survived by her beloved daughter Nyeemah M. Booker; her loving mother Karen William, her father Ilford Phillips, four brothers Dakeem, Antwone, Anthony and Marqutis Booker: great aunt Deborah Booker, special aunt Sandra Booker, uncles Harry Booker, Darrell Booker and Matthew Irby, aunt Shirley, cousins Jamari and Kasson Booker, and Qua’shon Ragland and a special friend Dorian Hall.
