Obituary of Marie Perkowsky

Marie Perkowsky, age 90, passed away on Tuesday, June 15, 2021. She was born and raised in Cocoa, Florida to Frederick and Julia Schumacher. She was also a longtime resident of North Plainfield, NJ for over 60 years.

Marie enjoyed working as a teacher’s aide at Stony Brook School in North Plainfield for over 40 years.

Marie loved taking trips to Maine with her family, was an excellent baker, and enjoyed sewing, needlepoint, and crocheting.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Frank Perkowsky Sr., who passed away in 2018.

She is survived by her two sons: Frank Perkowsky Jr. and his wife, Becky, and John Perkowsky; her 7 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 22, 2021, from 4 – 7 p.m., at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung, NJ. A service will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, June 23, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow, and she will be laid to rest at Musconetcong Valley Cemetery, 108 Valley Rd, Hampton, NJ.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in Marie’s name to the Arthritis Foundation.
