While I hadn't been in contact with Dave since college, his antics during my early years at Kutztown will always be fond memories. From the shaving cream fights while running down the dorm hallway to what he thought was hysterical to come up to me when I was lying on my bed, pull on the legs of my pants and tie them together while laughing and smirking at me. I don't know where he got them, but one time he handcuffed me to my bed post and then disappeared. There were times we had real conversations and were back massage buddies. I am so happy for him that he lived as full a life as he did and made such positive impacts on others' lives. And very saddened by him leaving so young; his time was too short. My condolences to his family and everyone who was close with him.

Rest in Peace Coach Dave. You were an great influence in Mike's (RIP) short life. Wrestling at Park Middle under your tutelage was life changing for him. Perhaps you will reconnect in the hereafter. God bless you. The Leist Family

We are so deeply saddened by Dave's passing. We met Dave & Michelle in Gettysburg and became fast friends. Our only regret is that we hadn't met him sooner. Our deepest and most heartfelt condolences to Michelle and all the family and friends that was blessed to know him.

I have been so blessed to have had Dave Cilio for a good friend for about 25 years. Personally, he has supported me through many journeys (both joyful and heartbreaking) ... and I know he has done that for many, many others ... physically as a trainer/coach, but also emotionally and even spiritually.
He had a way of bringing out the best in everyone - Reminding us that we are strong, capable and worthy. He had a wealth of knowledge about health and happiness and eagerly shared it.
He was so young and had so many dreams including a business in Gettysburg, sharing his knowledge of the Viking Runes and traveling. Dave was responsible for so much good in this world and yet still had more to offer. I struggle to make sense of this tragedy ... though he certainly has provided a role model for all.
I am grateful that Dave had such a loving wife, daughters, parents, siblings & spouses, even his little dog Freya, as well as his teammates, students, clients and other friends. He leaves such a hole in our hearts, but also a desire to be ... better.
There was no one like him in my life. I will remember and miss him forever.
With Love, Linda Donohue

You could not meet a finer or true man than Dave Cilio. My wife and I have trained with Dave for over 20 years. He has helped us through many injuries and pains because as you know there was no excuse for working out. We are in the best shape of our lives thanks to him.He was a man of firm convictions but would always listen to your side and proceed to tell you where you were wrong. We loved grappling with him on politics and history. Such a wealth of knowledge on both sides so he always could present a convincing argument. You would be floored by his stories on US History, especially Gettysburg, and Salem, Mass was one of his special haunts. Although he was truly a health nut, he had his favorite ice cream places and he did not scrimp on the portions. Dave loved good food and told us about his favorite restaurants all over his travels and they were not particularly healthy. He loved, loved, loved his vacation times, particularly his cruises. He would go on and on about his plans and brought us vicariously along with him.
His passion could not be surpassed for his wrestlers. Wrestling season was always stressful for him because he strived to make that team the best they could be and after a few years of team building he did it. Paintball was another passion and although we knew little about it, he would enlighten us with the strategies and players, where he was playing and how well he did.
Down deep Dave was a family man totally dedicated and devoted to their wants and needs. Making time for them and his other passions was a real balancing act. Michelle was the light in his life. His face would light up when he spoke on her. He had finally met his soul mate. Dave also had a special love for Danielle and Tiffani, entering their lives in their teenage years is not easy but he would try to help them navigate their lives and be the best they could. Countless times he spoke of the remainder of his family. His Mom and Dad, his step parents, his brother and sisters families, all were important to him
Be Positive, Be the Best you can be, Be true to your convictions, Be Healthy, Work Out, and Get a tattoo if you have time.
We will miss your smiling face and shaved head and the richness that you brought to our lives.
