Obituary of Ruth A. Stemkowski
Ruth A. Stemkowski, age 96, passed away on Friday, July 16th, 2021 at Brighton Gardens of Edison in Edison New Jersey. Ruth was born in Jersey City, NJ and resided in Carteret, NJ and Piscataway, NJ for over 40 years before making Edison, NJ her home of the last 3 years.
Ruth was a loyal Yankee’s fan, and also enjoyed solving crossword puzzles.
Ruth is predeceased by her husband Walter Stemkowski (2/19/04), her parents Fred and Mary Humcke, and her son-in-law Charles Da Graca (8/17/03).
She is survived by her daughters Janet (Allen) Belko and Barbara Da Graca, as well as her sister Doris Touris. She is further survived by 5 grandchildren: Barbara (Joe) Coyle, Andrea (Ryan) Ciampa, Gregg (Kristy) Da Graca, Dane (Brian) Johnstone, and Christine (Steve) Mancini. Surviving her also are 12 great-grandchildren: Joey, C.J., Matthew, Tyler, Nick, Alexis, Katelyn, Nicole, Charlotte, Victoria, Michael, and Brandi.
A public visitation will be held Wednesday, July 21st, 2021 from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung, NJ. Funeral and burial services are private.
