Obituary of Agnes Veronica Gebert
Agnes V. Gebert, née McNamara, age 87, passed away on Monday, July 26, 2021. Born and raised in Jersey City, NJ, Agnes also resided in New Providence and Chatham for many years. Most recently, she was a resident of Warren, NJ.
She worked as a secretary in Saint Peter’s University for many years.
Agnes was a passionate violin player and was a pupil of the famous fiddler, James Morrison.
She is preceded in death by her two late husbands: Patrick Golden and Joseph Gebert; and her two siblings: Margaret and Jack.
She is survived by her two children: Alanna Anne Golden and Patrick J. Golden; her brother, Kevin J. McNamara and his wife, Barbara; her sister, Kathleen Ferraro and her husband, Thomas; her sister-in-law, Claire McNamara; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
A visitation will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, July 29, 2021 from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung, NJ. A funeral mass will be held on Friday, July 30, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at Corpus Christi Roman Catholic Church, 234 Southern Blvd, Chatham Township, NJ. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 225 Ridgedale Ave, East Hanover, NJ.
