Jimmy Cason

Obituary of Jimmy J. Cason

Jimmy J. Cason was born the ninth child of Jim and Cora Cason in Midville, GA on April 12, 1954. He stepped off the platform of life onto the train to Glory on Friday, August 6th at home surrounded by family in Irvington, NJ.

During his childhood in Midville, Jimmy was educated in the Waynesboro School District and graduated from Waynesboro High School in 1972. One would say Jimmy was pretty popular in school and was known for his affectionate smile. During his youth, he enjoyed motorcycles and fishing with his friends. He acquired a love for cars at an early age, but he really didn’t have much of a choice being a Cason. He attended church with his family at Bark Camp Baptist Church in Midville, GA. At an early age, he accepted the right hand of fellowship and accept-ed Jesus Christ as his personal savior.

After graduating from high school, he helped his father on the farm while building his young career at Thermal King as a mechanical technician in Louisville, GA. At this time, he became a father to his first-born son, Kenneth.

One night, Jimmy went out to a party in Louisville, GA and was introduced to a young lady named Yvonne Trimble. They didn’t like each other at first but a friendship developed that turned into love. On June 19, 1982 they were married in Waynesboro, GA. Soon after marriage, they relocated to Union, NJ to join the rest of his siblings. To this union their daughter, Shakirah, was born.

After relocating to New Jersey, he started working at Pfizer/Stryker Medical in Mahwah, NJ. He worked along-side his sister, Viola making prosthetic body parts for 25 years. During his free time, he would help his brother, Quincy run his restaurant the BBQ Spot and educate himself on the stock market.

In 2009, he stepped out on faith to launch his own transportation and logistics company, JJ Transportation. JJ Transportation supported the economy by delivering essential goods and produce nationwide for over 10 years. While on the road he would make sure he would go back home to Georgia to check in on his family and friends. There he was reunited with his daughter, Tiffany.

Throughout his years, Jimmy has always been the life of the party. Whenever he was around it was a sure thing you would have a good time. He loved his family and there was nothing he wouldn’t do for them. On any given Sunday you would find Jimmy in front of the television rooting for his team the Philadelphia Eagles while on the phone with his nephews talking smack. Jimmy enjoyed shooting pool, playing golf and cooking. He would often call various family members for a recipe to try.

Jimmy’s presence will be greatly missed by not only his loving family and friends, but all that came in contact with him.

He is preceded in death by his daughter, Tacorra; father, Jim Cason and mother, Cora Lee Cason; brothers, Quincy Lee Cason Sr., and Add Cason; sisters, Ninie Lee Cason and Mary Jane Sanders; brothers-in-law, Lawrence Sampson Sr., and Sidney Page; mother-in-law, Mary Curtis; and his nephew, Laquan Cason.
