Obituary of Barry L. Antonacci
Barry L. Antonacci, aged 73 years, passed away on Tuesday, August 17, 2021. He was born in Newark, NJ to Leonard and Mary Antonacci (née Barany). Raised in Springfield, NJ, he also lived in Watchung, NJ for 13 years before finally moving to Bridgewater, NJ.
Barry is an alumnus of Upsala College, located formerly in East Orange, NJ with both a Bachelor of Science and Master’s degree in Microbiology.
He worked his entire career at Schering-Plough / Merck in Kenilworth, NJ as a Senior Research Scientist.
Barry adored cooking, traveling, and spending time with his family and friends.
He is survived by Ralph Messina, his partner of 43 years. He is also survived by several cousins.
Memorial Donations may be made in Barry’s name to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital and the Tunnel to Towers Foundation.
A public visitation will be held on Thursday, August 19, 2021 from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung, NJ. A service will be held on Friday, August, 20, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. in celebration of Barry’s life at the funeral home. He will be laid to rest at Glendale Cemetery in Bloomfield, NJ.
