Obituary of Jonathan Maxwell Christenson

Jonathan Maxwell Christenson, age 51, passed away on Wednesday August 25, 2021, at Morristown Medical Center after a long illness. Born in Plainfield, New Jersey, Jonathan grew up in Watchung and resided in Garwood before moving to Boonton, New Jersey.

 

Jonathan earned his bachelor’s degree in hotel and restaurant management from the Johnson and Wales University in Providence RI.

 

Prior to his illness, Jonathan had spent over twenty-eight years as a seafood purveyor, most recently employed as a regional sales representative with C.P. Food Products, Inc., of Columbia, MD.

 

Jonathan was an avid bicyclist, motorcyclist and car enthusiast. One of his favorite past times was at his family’s home in Lavallette, NJ but most of all he loved spending time with his friends and family especially his two sons Samuel and Wyatt.

 

Jonathan is predeceased by his parents George Thomas Christenson III and Susan (Farber) Christenson.

 

Surviving are his sons Samuel and Wyatt Christenson, two brothers George Thomas Christenson IV and his wife Rachael and Kevin C. Christenson and his wife Lynn and three nieces Emma, Kelly, and Caroline. He is also survived by his loving fiancée Jessica Marcone Scarpa and her daughters Isabella and Mia.

 

A visitation will be held on Thursday September 2, 2021, at Higgins Home for Funerals 752 Mountain Blvd. Watchung, NJ 07069 from 5pm to 8 pm. The funeral service will be on Friday beginning at 10:30 AM at the funeral home followed by the interment at St. Gertrude Cemetery in Colonia, New Jersey.
