Obituary of Anne Laferrera

Anne Laferrera, age 81, passed away on September 26, 2021 at her home in Warren surrounded by her loving family.  Anne was born and raised in Passaic, NJ. She was raised in Garfield and Clifton, NJ, resided in Marlboro for seven years before moving to Warren 47 years ago.

Anne graduated from Clifton High School, and furthered her education at William Paterson University in Wayne, NJ earning her bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education.  After graduating she taught in New Jersey and Michigan.  Anne was a manager in charge of internal conference planning for Bellcore in Piscataway, NJ.

Anne is predeceased by her parents, Michael and Helen Ladika and her sister Helen Litchult

Anne is survived by her husband Joseph L Laferrera, Jr.; her two sons, Joseph J Laferrera and his wife Charlene and Michael J Laferrera and his wife Melissa; her four grandchildren, Julian Laferrera, Sarah Laferrera, Evan Laferrera , and Tate Laferrera; and her sister Marilyn Ladika.

Anne was a peer leader for Healthy Bones of Somerset County for 20 years and was honored as a Positive Aging Role Model by the Somerset County Office on Aging.

Anne enjoyed traveling, especially to Europe, but her greatest joy was spending time with her family.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 28, 2021 at 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Higgins Home For Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung, NJ 07069.  Funeral services will begin on Wednesday, September 29, 2021 at 9:00 am at the funeral home followed  by a 10:00 am Funeral Mass at Our Lady of the Mount Church, 170 Mt Bethel Road, Warren, NJ 07059.  Interment to follow at Saint Vincent’s Cemetery in Madison, NJ.

Memorial donations may be made to Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, MS Society NJ, American Heart Association, or Atlantic Visiting Nurses.
