Rose Caruso

Obituary of Rose Caruso

Rose (Laface) Caruso, age 86, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Friday, October 29th, 2021 at Morristown Medical Center. Born and raised in Tresilico (Reggio Calabria, Italy), she immigrated to America with her family in 1951. Upon her arrival, she began working as a seamstress in Elizabeth, NJ and on April 25, 1954, Rose married Domenick Caruso, her loving husband of 51 years. They resided in Elizabeth until 1973, when they moved their family to Bridgewater, NJ. They loved welcoming family and friends into their home and traveling the world together. Rose later moved to Whitehouse Station, NJ in 2014.

Rose was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, great- grandmother and member of Blessed Sacrament RomanCatholic Church for over 30 years. Throughout those years, she especially loved attending daily mass, praying the rosary, and spending time with her growing family. Rose’s greatest joy in life was preparing and sharing meals with them; on any given day she could be found spending hours in the kitchen, cooking and humming to her favorite songs. Her meals, kindness, generosity and love fed the souls of everyone who entered her heart and home.

Rose is predeceased by her loving husband Domenick in 2005, her beloved son Joseph Caruso, her sister Mary DeLorenzo and husband Frank, brother-in-law Joseph LaBracio and sister-in-law Mary LaFace.

She is survived by her children Rosemarie Renda, Anthony Caruso and wife Cynthia, Dominick Caruso III and partner Kimberly, Nancy DeLoria and husband Peter, and thirteen grandchildren Dana (Ryan), Catherine, Joseph (Kim), Elizabeth (Mike), Anthony (Jennifer), Michael (Jenny), Cristina, Domenick (Diana), Antonio (Sara), Dominick IV (Nicole), Matthew, Marissa, and Alaina. She is survived by 19 great-grandchildren who all brought her sunshine, laughter and lots of love. She is also survived by her sisters Grace and Connie (Vincent), and brothers Dominic(Mary), Joseph (Marie), Frank, and Anthony (Barbara), and many loving nieces, nephews and friends. Lastly, she is survived by her loving caregiver of over 20 years, Anna Greco.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 3rd, 2021 from 4pm-8pm at Higgins Home for Funerals (752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung, NJ 07069).
