Obituary of Alexander R. Ierubino
Alexander R. Ierubino, age 89, passed away on Friday, November 5, 2021 at Morristown Memorial Hospital. Born and raised in Newark, NJ, Alexander was a longtime resident of Watchung for the past 50 years.
He proudly served his country in the Army during the Korean War.
A charitable person, Alexander loved to volunteer at the Watchung Lions Club. He also would volunteer at the Lyons VA Medical Center located in Lyons, NJ.
He is preceded in death by his son Steven in 1977.
He is survived by his loving wife, Philomena Ierubino; his two sons, Alexander Ierubino and his partner Rex Barrow, and his son Mark Ierubino and his wife Pamela; he is further survived by his sister Mary Miscoiscia; and one grandchild, Nicholas Ierubino.
A visitation will be held on Monday, November 8, 2021 from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung, NJ. A funeral mass will follow at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Stony Hill Church, Watchung, NJ. He be laid to rest at Somerset Hills Memorial Park, Basking Ridge, NJ.
