In life there are givers and takers. Terri was a champion giver. She would figure out a need and go to great lengths to fill it. I knew Terri as a fellow host to international students. Terri (and Levi) did not know the word "no" when it came to hosting kids in their home and providing for them above and beyond what was required. If there was a need for her to take in more kids, she did out of the goodness of her heart and her generous giving nature. While I set limits for myself, and they were wide limits, it seemed that Terri and Levi had no limits with regard to taking students from Europe and Asia into their home and treating them like family. Terri's meals were superb. I was treated to one that made the table sag under the weight of what she put on it. Unbelievable--because she wanted to show you her affection by feeding you and making you feel welcome. Great smile, laugh and wry wit, Terri had no problem calling something for what it was. I consider myself to be fortunate to have known this woman and am very saddened that she is no longer with us. But I will remember her and when I think of Terri, I will smile.

I met Terri when I worked for an organization that placed international students with host families. Those students became part of her family. She went above and beyond to treat those strangers as they were her own. That was her nature. She was kind. She was incredibly happy to lend a helping hand whenever she could, as often as she could.
She loved her family. She loved her puppies. She loved her husband, Levi. She loved her children. She was incredibly proud of her children and the adults they had become. She loved the people they were. How could she not? They sounded so like her.
Terri and I became fast friends. We spent many hours laughing and boy did she have a great laugh! I will miss that.
I will miss her asking me over for dinner, which turned out to look like a buffet at a restaurant. She was a great cook. And if possible, an even better baker! After an amazing dinner, she would serve the best cake. Fit for a king or a queen.
And that brings me back to Terri and Levi. While their time together seems much too short, their time together was valued and valuable to each other. Their love for each other was evident in the everyday ways they cared for each other. He, her King, and she, his Queen. Their love doesn’t end.
Rest easy my friend. Laugh with the angels and bake with the best. I miss you.

This is Salma, her next door neighbor. My closest most recent memory was when my car got totaled. She stood outside with me the whole time to assure I was okay. She taught me that when you lose something good, god replaces it with something better. She was more than a neighbor, she became family. May she Rest In Peace ❤️
