Obituary of Geneva G. Shaw

Geneva Shaw, 61, of Plainfield, passed away on June 24 at home surrounded by family and friends. Visitation will be 10 a.m., June 30 at Ruth Fellowship Ministries. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., June 30 at Ruth Fellowship Ministries, Rev. Tracey L. Brown presiding. Burial will follow at Hillside Cemetery in Scotch Plains; arrangements by Higgins Home for Funerals, Plainfield. Geneva was born in Dillwyn, V.A. to Willie and Sarah Booker on November 17, 1952. Along with family, she later moved to Piscataway, New Jersey where she attended Piscataway Public Schools. She married Cornelius Shaw on June 26, 1982 in Plainfield, N.J. She earned an Associate's degree from Middlesex County College. She worked as an Executive Assistant for Chubb Insurance Co. for 19 years. Geneva is preceded in death by Willie (father), Jon (brother), Marie (sister), Jay (brother), and Sarah Booker (mother). Geneva is survived by Cornelius Shaw (husband), Kelly Shaw (daughter), Jayson Shaw (son), Deborah Booker (sister) and Veronica Luck (sister). Special family and friends: Sidney Jr. and Kathy Howard, Susan and Billy Levi, Linda Klaube, and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Pallbearers will be Cornelius Shaw, Jayson Shaw, Darryl Booker, Sidney Howard Jr., Kenneth Howard and Dakeem Booker.
