Obituary of Barbara Ann Fitzpatrick

Barbara Ann Fitzpatrick, age 90, passed away on Tuesday, February 8th, 2022, at the Regency Jewish Heritage Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Somerset NJ. She was born and raised in Brooklyn NY.  Barbara had resided in Millington, NJ, and Warren, Connecticut before moving to Basking Ridge, NJ in 2015.

Barbara had received her bachelor's degree in business from Caldwell College while raising her family.

After graduating, she had worked as a teacher for the Katharine Gibbs School of Business, the Cittone Institute, and the Drake School of Business.  Upon retiring from teaching, Barbara moved to Connecticut opening her own bed and breakfast.  She ran the bed and breakfast until age 85, when sold it and moved back to New Jersey in 2015.

Barbara was a former member of St. Vincent DePaul R.C. Church in Stirling. She enjoyed bird watching, pottery, and gardening.

She is predeceased by her two sons: Leo John Fitzpatrick Brown and Kevin Michael Brown.

Surviving are her four children: Terence Edward Brown, Timothy Brown, Teresa Hoffman-Bauer, and Ellen Bond; three grandchildren Jarrett Lee Bond, Zackery Kevin Bond, and Kaylie Claire Bond, a sister Alice Vorwerk and three nieces Mary Alice, Barbara, and Cathleen.

A visitation will be held from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday, February 11, 2022, at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung, NJ 07069.
