Obituary of Patricia Rose Chiovarou
April 22, 1936 – March 6, 2022
Devoted Mother, Grandmother, Sister, Aunt, and Friend
Patricia Rose (née Perdie) Chiovarou, 85, formerly of Bridgewater, NJ, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 6, 2022. Universally loved by family and friends, she was a woman of faith and wisdom who saw the good in everyone.
She was predeceased by her parents, Mary (née Roden) and Edward Perdie, and her husband, Joseph E. Chiovarou.
After graduating from North Plainfield High School, Pat worked for some of the most brilliant minds in the world at Bell Labs in the late 1950s, leaving in 1958 to marry Joe, the love of her life.
Married 46 years until Joe’s passing, the two had five children, all of whom survive – Susan Burlingame (Philip), Patty Lynn Connell (Michael), Joseph Chiovarou Jr. (Erica), Jill Muir (Robert), and Daniel Chiovarou (Marianne). Pat adored her 14 grandchildren: Quinn (Bryn), Katherine (Jochanan), Shea, Riley, Maggierose, Tyler, Austin, Morgan, Lily, Brody, Shane, Carson, Alexandra, and of course, Joe III. She is also survived by two sisters, Maryhelen Thievon and Jane Klinger, several in-laws, many nieces and nephews, and lifelong friends.
She enjoyed gardening, tennis, golf, travel, reading, and especially, time with loved ones. Her gentle wit and loving spirit will be missed by all who knew her.
A viewing will be held on Friday, March 11, 2022, from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd, Watchung, NJ. A mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, March 12, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. at Blessed Sacrament Church in Martinsville, NJ, followed by entombment in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Watchung, NJ.
