Obituary of Lorraine C. Visotski

Lorraine C. Visotski, age 89, née Wegrzynowicz, passed away on Monday, June 13, 2022, at RWJ University Hospital Somerset. She was born in Newark, NJ, and had lived in Hillside, NJ before moving to Warren Township in 1969. Lorraine then retired to Basking Ridge, NJ in 1994.

She was the wife of the late Leonard Visotski, the original chief of the Warren Township Police Department, who passed away in 2019.

Lorraine worked as an Administrative Assistant and Librarian at Woodland School in Warren, NJ, an administrative assistant for Dale Carnegie in Warren, NJ, and then retired as the Principal’s Administrative Assistant at Watchung Hills Regional High School in Warren, NJ.

Her family was recognized as the New Jersey Family of The Year in 1978, the only time that honor was ever bestowed.

She was an active member and parishioner of Our Lady of the Mount Church in Warren, NJ for 52 years and served the community as a Eucharistic Minister, Rosarian, and CCD teacher.

She was also an active parishioner of St. Mary’s Stony Hill Church in Watchung, NJ.

Lorraine was preceded in death by her parents, John and Wanda Wegrzynowicz, and her beloved husband, Leonard Visotski in 2019.

She is survived by her three children: Ray Visotski, and his wife, Alicia of Aiken, SC, Donna Remaley of Edison, NJ, and Debra Yarow, and her husband, Rick, of Norfolk, VA; her grandchildren: Matthew Remaley, Kelliann Visotski, Elissa Creech, Megan Peace, Gracie White, Faith White, Benjamin Yarow, and Hannah Yarow; and her great-grandchildren: Adeline Creech, Theodore Creech, and Maddox Peace.

A Memorial Mass will be held on Friday, June 24, 2022, at St. Mary's Stony Hill RC Church, 225 Mountain Blvd., Watchung, NJ 07069 at 10:00 a.m. Inurnment will follow at Somerset Hills Memorial Park in Basking Ridge, NJ.
