Obituary of Patricia Ann Shafi

Loving wife, mother, grandmother

Patricia Ann Shafi of Cedar Grove, passed away Tuesday, July 5th, 2022, at the age of 63. A life-long caretaker, her legacy lives on through the children she raised as mom, second-mom, grandmother, and even mother-in-law. 

She grew up in Bound Brook with her 9 siblings and raised her family in Watchung. She shared a mutual obsession and adoration with her grandchildren, Leo, Lizzie, May, Chase, and Brielle. She is survived by her loving husband Mohammad, her daughters Heather (Brian) and Alexandra (Kyle), her stepdaughters Jennifer and Sabra (James), her stepson Christopher, and her countless family members who adored her. Family was the most important to Patti. She always made a point to stay in touch with family and friends and often organized get-togethers and vacations. She is predeceased by her brother, Michael Markey, and her parents, Joseph and Claire Markey.

A viewing will be held on Friday, July 8th, 2022, from 4-8 pm, at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Boulevard, Watchung, NJ 07069. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 9th, at 10 am, at the Presbyterian Church, 53 Norwood Avenue, Montclair, NJ 07043.
