Obituary of Aprel McDonald

Aprel Rae McDonald, age 62, passed away on Tuesday, August 23, 2022, at Robert Wood Johnson Hospital in New Brunswick, NJ.  Aprel was born in Red Bank, NJ, her family moved to South Plainfield at the age of five and had been a resident of Somerset, NJ since 2008.

Aprel earned her bachelor’s degree at Kane University in 1982.  After graduating form college, she became a speech therapist for the New Brunswick Board of Education.

She was an avid reader, enjoyed cooking and loved to travel.

Aprel is survived by her brother John McDonald of Center Point, Alabama.  She is also survived by extended family and many close friends.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 10, 2022, at 9:30 am at Calvary Community Church, 5 Franklin Street, Somerset, NJ 08875. Interment will follow the funeral service at Hillside Cemetery, 1401 Woodland Avenue, Scotch Plains, NJ 07076.
