Obituary of Lorraine DeCosimo
Lorraine DeCosimo, age 78, passed away on Monday September 12, 2022 surrounded by her loving family at her home in New Egypt, NJ. Lorraine was born at Lennox Hill Hospital in New York City to Joseph Lloyd and Claire Francis Wilson. Lorraine grew up on Butler Street in Avenel NJ, Hickory Road in Colonia NJ. In 1978 lived in Englishtown, NJ before settling down in New Egypt, NJ for the past 30 years.
Lorraine is a graduate of Woodbridge High School, class of 1962.
She began her career as an office clerk working for Magla Products in Irvington NJ. In 1982 she worked as a Payables Receivables manager at Transfer Print Foils, Inc. in East Brunswick for over 20 years. Transfer Print Foils specialized in hot stamping, and holograms imprinting. Lorraine worked with them until they closed, then continued to work at The Chelsea Assisted Living in Tinton Falls for the past ten years.
Lorraine enjoyed taking trips to their home in Bainbridge Up State NY with her husband Ralph and loved the farm lifestyle. However, her true passion was classic cars, she not only admired them but also loved resorting them with her husband. Lorraine was a member of the Jersey Cruisers, a local car club in New Jersey.
She is predeceased by her father Joseph Lloyd Wilson.
Lorraine is survived by her loving husband Ralph L. DeCosimo Jr.; a daughter Jacqueline DiMonaco and her husband Dave, her mother Claire F. Wilson; three stepchildren Anthony DeCosimo, Renee Zarelli and her husband Tony and Michelle DeCosimo; four grandchildren Brielle, William, Anthony, and Joseph; She is also survived by her sister Joanne Thurston and her husband Bruce and 2 nieces, Cheryl Fencik and husband Robert, Christina and 2 nephews, Scott Kutcher and Todd Thurston and wife Ashley. She also leaves behind an uncle, Sister in laws and Brother in laws and many other family members.
A visitation will be held on Sunday September 18th, 2022, from 1 to 5pm at Higgins Home for Funerals 752 Mountain Blvd. Watchung NJ 07069. A funeral service will be on Monday at 12pm at the funeral home with Reverend Sean Kenny officiating. The Interment will follow immediately at Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial in Wrightstown, NJ.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her loving memory to the Ronald McDonald House.
