Obituary of Maria DiIusto
Maria DiIusto, age 75, passed away on September 20, 2022, at Robert Wood Johnson Hospital in New Brunswick. Maria was born in Macchia Valfortore, Italy, a town and commune in the Province of Campobasso, Molise, southern Italy. After marriage to her husband Cesare F. DiIusto, she immigrated to East Orange, NJ. In 1982 Maria moved to West Orange, NJ and resided there until moving to Warren, NJ in 2016.
Maria was employed as a shipping clerk at Schering Plough in Kenilworth, NJ for 25 years.
She was a devout catholic who was a former communicant of St. Joseph’s RC Church in East Orange, NJ, St. Joseph’s RC Church in West Orange, NJ and most recently at Blessed Sacrament Church in Martinsville, NJ.
Maria always will be affectionately remembered for her love of cooking and spending quality time with her family. She also enjoyed sewing and knitting to help cancer patients in need of warm hats and scarves, traveling to Italy with her family to visit her younger sisters, but her greatest joy was being a grandmother and spending time with her grandchildren.
Maria is predeceased by her loving husband of 53 years, Cesar F DiIusto in 2016 and her parents, Orazio and Rosaria Spadaccino.
She is survived by her three children; Michael DiIusto and his wife Giovanna, Anna Concilio and her husband Nick and Frank DiIusto and his wife Lisa, six grandchildren; Bianca, Michael, Joseph, Sabrina, Nicholas, and Luca, and two sisters; Lina Spadaccino and her husband Alfredo and Antonietta and her husband Salvatore.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, September 22, 2022, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Higgins Home For Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung, NJ 07069. A Mass will be held on Friday, September 23, 2022, at 10:00 am at Blessed Sacrament Church, 1890 Washington Valley Road, Martinsville, NJ 08836. Entombment will follow at Hollywood Memorial Park, 1621 Stuyvesant Avenue, Union, NJ 07083
