Obituary of Erik Paul Salemke
Erik Paul Salemke, age 38, died suddenly on Thursday, October 20, 2022, in Bedminster, NJ. Born in Tokyo, Japan, Erik has been a lifelong resident of Bridgewater.
Erik had taken several courses at Raritan Valley Community College in Branchburg before leaving to pursue a career in the construction business. Erik began working for his best friend Tommy O'Keefe's family construction company; this is where he learned the skills he needed to open his own general contracting business. In 2012, Erik started EPC (Erik Paul Construction) LLC, a general contracting company specializing in masonry and general building construction.
In his spare time, Erik enjoyed working on his Ford Mustang racing car that he built by hand for his favorite sport, drifting. When he was younger, he enjoyed racing dirt bikes. Most of all, Erik loved being a father to his eight-month-old daughter Eva Marie.
Erik is predeceased by his sister, Ginger Truan in 1995, his father, Manfred Salemke in 2012, his grandfather, Pete Gonzalez in1993, and his grandmother, Estella Gonzalez in 2020.
He is survived by his mother, Lupita Salemke, daughter, Eva Marie, and his companion and mother of his daughter, Chelsea Cordero. He is also survived by a host of extended family and loving friends.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 5, 2022, at 10 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 35 Lamington Rd, Branchburg, NJ, followed by entombment at Somerset Hills Memorial Park in Basking Ridge, NJ.
