Joseph Lambariello

Obituary of Joseph Lambariello

Joseph A Lambariello, age 61, passed away on Wednesday, October 26, 2022, after a two and a half plus year battle with Stage 4 Colon Cancer.  He was on hospice at home at the time of his passing.

Joe grew up in Wallington, NJ, moved to Cedar Grove, NJ, after marrying his wife of 37 years, Susan, and spent the last 29 years with his wife and children in Warren, NJ.  He was a member of the Warren business community, being the founding partner of Lambariello, Edwards, Smith & Speed Attorneys at Law in the center of Warren.

Joe attended Paramus Catholic high school, was a 1983 graduate of Lehigh University and a member of the Chi Phi Fraternity, obtained his JD in Law from Seton Hall University and his LLM in Taxation in Law from New York University.

At his Ocean Beach Shores residence (Lavallette, NJ), he was known for his passion for fishing, that passion took him on many trips in the last two years to find the ultimate fishing spot with both friends and family.  It has been said that if, on a chilly weekend in the Fall you saw a lone figure on the beach, you could be certain it was Joe doing what he loved best.   Colleagues, clients and friends alike remember him for his generous spirit and appreciation for good food and excellent wine.

Joe is survived by his wife Susan; children Kevin, Brian, and Nicole, mother Emily Lambariello, brother Michael and his wife Claire Lambariello, in-laws Serina & Frank Calandra, Donna & Sam MacMullan, Janet Cangialosi and Phil Szymanski, Linda Cangialosi, Brian & Natasha Calandra, and Toby & Andrew Jayne as well as numerous nieces and nephews.  At this time, we cannot forget the colleagues, clients, friends, neighbors, and especially the man he would have been proud to call son-in-law, Casey, who have helped make this journey as full of joy as possible and filled his last days with love.   They are part of his surviving family as well.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, October 30, 2022, from 1 pm to 6 pm at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd, Watchung, NJ.  A funeral Mass will be held at 10 am on Monday, October 31, 2022,  at St. Mary’s Stony Hill R.C. Church in Watchung, NJ.   Cremation services will be private.

Colon cancer is an extremely preventable and treatable disease if caught in a timely manner through recommended screening.  We encourage all who cared about Joe to have a colorectal screening as recommended.   Donations to the Cancer organization of your choice in Joe’s memory is appreciated.
